Urban Meyer has resigned from his position as head coach of the University of Florida football team and will make his reasons known shortly in a press conference from Gainesville.
Meyer, who briefly resigned last year only to come back a day later and say he would only be taking a leave of absence, released a statement earlier today saying it was time to go. Again. Presumably, this time for good.
We'll know more shortly as Meyer speaks to what should be a jam-packed audience at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
What we won't know—and it would be shocking if we did—is who Meyer's replacement will be. A radio station in Tampa is reporting that former UF assistant and current Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen has already been offered the job, but that is unsubstantiated.
